Legals

All Marriage Celebrants are required to follow a Code of Practice as set out by the Australian Government Attorney General’s Department.

As your chosen Marriage Celebrant I will arrange all the legal documentation required for your marriage to proceed. A Notice of Intended Marriage (NIM) form must be lodged with me no more than 18 months before and no less than 1 month and 1 day prior to your wedding. Depending on your circumstances, documents such as birth certificates, passports or divorce certificates, will need to be supplied and I am able to advise in this regard.

At our first formal meeting, all the documentation will be checked to enable you to sign the NIM form. Payment of your deposit (non-refundable) would be required at this meeting.

I will give you a folder containing ceremonies and other information so that we can discuss and prepare your wedding ceremony at our next meeting. If requested, a ‘practice’ session may also be arranged close to the date of your ceremony.

Fees

Fees for the various ceremonies will vary, depending on what you choose. As a guide, my fee for a wedding service starts at $450 and includes two formal meetings, a ‘practice’ session if requested and lodgement of all legal documentation as per requirements. Included in my fee is the use of a PA system, signing table and chairs. You will also have unlimited contact via email or phone. Fees for Naming Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows and Life Commitment Ceremonies generally start from $350.

My travel area includes the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Southern Tablelands, and the Sutherland Shire. However, I am also available to travel to areas other than those mentioned, or even interstate. Some additional costs may be incurred for extended distances of travel, car parking (particularly in major cities) or E-toll costs. Such charges will be advised and included in a Statement of Fees.
